All products use only furniture quality materials, real wood veneers, and high quality finishes, so the product are made to last. The Bamboo veneer is supplied by Teragren, a U.S. based manufacturer of bamboo ply products. It is sustainable harvested, and produced with the strict adherence to environmental standards. The Wenge is manufactured by ALPI, Italy. It is a composite veneer processed and manufactured using stringent environmental practices. It is made for Poplar wood from Italian agricultural plantations; it is not harvested from the rain forest.
Vurv Designs does not use lacquer in the finishes, which requires a high percentage of thinner to put the lacquer into solution. Those extra fumes in the atmosphere are not only harmful to the sprayer, but pollute the environment as well. They use a polyurethane varnish, which has an excellent heat, wear, solvent, acid and alkali resistance-as well as excellent water and water vapor resistance. They use and HVLP (high volume low pressure) spray system to apply the finish, which has a 65-90% efficiency, versus only 20-30% efficiency on a conventional spray system. This means more of the finish they spray actually ends up on their products.
